How Can I Increase My Low Milk Supply?
Q: After nursing my child for 6 months my milk supply has greatly decreased (this happened with the last two kids I have nursed). I am pumping at work and nursing at night and in the morning. I have started exercising again and with 4 kids I am up at 5:30am and on my feet until 10 pm. Am I pushing my body too far or could nutrition play a part and help me get my milk supply back? - Kate
What's the importance of Choline during pregnancy?

Thanks,
Joan

What is the difference between Folate & Folic Acid?
Q: Is there a difference between folate and folic acid? I know both are important during pregnancy but can you please explain why, in laymen’s terms? And last, but not least, how much should I be getting during pregnancy?

Thanks,
Jill

A: Great questions, Jill! Folic acid is the synthetic version of the B vitamin, folate (i.e. the supplement form).

Thanks, Michelle

What Is The Importance of Omega-3s?
QCan you please explain the importance of omega-3s and DHA, in particular? As a pregnant woman, I know I should have these essential fats in my diet but how much and what are the best sources? I am not a vegetarian but don’t care for fish. Are supplements a good alternative? Any guidance you can share would be appreciated.

Can I Get Too Much Vitamin A?

Q: I love this time of year because of all of the pumpkin foods around! But I’ve heard that getting too much Vitamin A during pregnancy can be bad for the baby. Does this mean no pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving this year?!

A: That’s an excellent question and one that I hear a lot because it can be confusing!
