Smoothies are simple, fun and delicious. What makes them even better? Creating something that is not only great for you, but can be shared with your baby or toddler. I don't know how you roll, but in my house, two birds with one stone is always preferred.
This fabulous recipe is quick, cool, refreshing and chalk-full of all the nutrients you and the kiddos need to start the day or begin an afternoon for that matter.
Great whole food ingredients make for great health. Enjoy!
2 cups baby kale
1 cup cut honeydew melon
1 green apple (cored - skin on for added fiber)
1 cup purified water
1 cup ice
2 tablespoons chia seeds
Place all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Serve with a lime wedge
Note: You can make this smoothie the perfect consistency for your little one by simply adding or removing water. If you have a toddler, add a touch of excitement by giving your smoothie a great name like, "Green Monster Juice" and watch them drink it up.
